Programme
This series concert is held every year inside the Former Ogata Residence, a nationally designated Important Cultural Property (Japanese house). This year’s 14th concert features marimba and vibraphone. In addition to the marimba solos ‘Tanjo on Children’s Songs,’ ‘Bach Unaccompanied Cello Suite’ and ‘Japanese Songs Medley’ (arr. 松島美紀), leading Japanese jazz vibraphonist Toshihiro Akamatsu joins as guest for ‘Piazzolla Medley,’ ‘Ghanaia’ and more, ranging from traditional and contemporary music to ethnic music and jazz with chord improvisation, borderlessly, with enjoyable talk.
