Marimbafest 2022 is scheduled for 3–8 July at the UWA Conservatorium of Music in Perth, with online participation alongside in-person activity. Session times remain provisional.
Competition
Solo marimba and percussion ensembles of two to ten players compete. A video first stage leads to live or hybrid semi-finals on 4 and 6 July, with A Class and Open Class finals scheduled for 8 July. Online entrants’ videos are played at the venue for the faculty panel.
Faculty and public programme
Faculty members include Matthew Lau, Kana Omori, S. A. Hall, Jaime Esposito, Robert Oetomo, Catherine Betts, Joshua Webster, Brian Maloney, Paul Tanner and Adam Tan. Masterclasses and public concerts accompany the competition.
