Germany-based marimba and percussion artist Ayami Okamura presents her marimba solo recital Place to Be — Where I Belong at 14:00 on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Aoyama Music Memorial Hall Barocksaal in Kyoto. Doors open at 13:30.
The programme ranges from the Adagietto from Mahler’s Symphony No. 5 and Piazzolla’s Buenos Aires Summer in an arrangement by P. Cheung to J.S. Bach’s Cello Suite No. 1 and Hiromi Uehara’s Place to Be. Bringing together classical music, jazz, film music, and works for marimba, the recital explores the idea of finding one’s place through music.
All seats are unreserved. Advance tickets are ¥2,500 for general admission and ¥1,500 for students; same-day tickets cost ¥500 more. Preschool-aged children are not admitted. The venue currently labels the event as on sale and lists the venue box office, telephone sales, and the recital committee as ticket channels, while Ticket Pia says its planned allotment has ended.
