Time for Percussion 2026, a concert devoted to contemporary works for marimba and percussion, takes place at 19:00 on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Suntory Hall’s Blue Rose in Tokyo. The concert is scheduled to end at 21:00 and is presented by Stick Vox Klavier.
The programme opens with Naoki Sakata’s Yosegi no taiju for solo marimba. It continues with the marimba-duo second movement from Philippe Manoury’s Le Livre Des Claviers, James Wood’s Village Burial with Fire, and Andy Akiho’s Pillar III.
The finale is Alejandro Viñao’s Patterns & Form for eight percussionists and piano. The co-commissioned work receives its Asian premiere at this concert. The performers include marimba soloist Kunihiko Komori and pianist Moe Nakanishi.
All seating is unreserved. Tickets are ¥5,000 for general admission and ¥3,500 for students. Admission is also ¥3,500 each for a disability certificate holder and one accompanying person. Preschool-age children are not admitted. Performers and programme details are subject to change.
