The International Marimba Festiva Meetings, presented by the Marimba Festiva Association in cooperation with the Music School of the City of Zug, takes place in Zug, Switzerland, on 26 and 27 September 2026. Rafael Christen serves as artistic director. The programme brings lectures, individual lessons, and chamber-music projects together around the marimba.
The listed faculty and soloists are Chiharu Takei , Hedi Yang , and Luca Staffelbach . The organizer’s current page includes Takei’s lecture and masterclass, Keiko Abe — Between Improvisation and Nature, and Staffelbach’s Bach on the Marimba.
A closing concert with soloists and participants is scheduled for 16:00 on 27 September in the Aula of the Music School of the City of Zug’s Musikschulzentrum, Bundesstrasse 2. The posted flyer lists admission as free.
Participants may choose passive participation, including attendance at all three masterclasses, or active participation, including group instruction, one individual lesson with a faculty member, and optional participation in the closing concert. The organizer’s current page lists regular fees of €140 for passive participation and €200 for active participation; reduced fees of €100 and €160 respectively apply to Music School of Zug students and Marimba Festiva Association members.
