Nanae Mimura’s marimba and vibraphone recital Resonance Journey — A Musical Journey Across Eras and Genres, Connected by Resonance takes place at 17:00 on Saturday, March 13, 2027, at Yamaha Hall in Ginza, Tokyo. Doors open at 16:30. Pianist Masaki Hayashi joins Mimura for the recital.
The programme places the marimba’s deep, warm wooden sound beside the vibraphone’s clear metallic resonance. It moves through healing music, works shaped by folk and jazz elements, and music that brings electronics and acoustic instruments together. In dialogue with Hayashi’s piano, the recital explores the distinct characters of the two keyboard percussion instruments and the breadth of their sound across genres.
