The Percussive Arts Society (PAS) Marimba Solo Competition 2016 invites applications through 2016-05-15. Its preliminary stage uses recordings, and up to four finalists are to compete at PASIC 2016 in Indianapolis, Indiana. The marimba final is scheduled for 2016-11-10, within the convention’s 2016-11-09/2016-11-12 dates.
Competition format
Every entrant is to receive comments from a judging panel. Selected finalists receive waived PASIC registration, and the preliminary round uses recordings.
Announced awards
Announced cash awards are $1,000 for first place, $750 for second, $500 for third and $250 for fourth. Finalists remain responsible for travel, room and board.
