Marimba Festiva e.V.’s 1st International Keiko Abe Marimba Online Competition is scheduled online from 1 June to 1 December 2023. The timetable starts with preliminary registration and video submission and ends with an online awards ceremony.
Competition
The competition has Semi-Professional and Professional categories. Preliminary entrants perform one freely chosen work by Keiko Abe. Semi-Professional finalists prepare a free programme of up to fifteen minutes. In the Professional category, later rounds include specified Keiko Abe works, including Dreams of the Cherry Blossoms, and the final requires one of three listed concertante works plus a free work.
Jury
Keiko Abe is honorary juror. Klaus Tresselt, Gordon Stout, Sławomir Mścisz and Fumito Nunoya form the jury; Nunoya heads the panel.
Entry fees
The preliminary fee is €50, waived for Marimba Festiva Association members. After qualification, the fee is €100 for Semi-Professional and €150 for Professional entrants.
