The final of the 7th Tokyo International Marimba Competition is scheduled for Monday 19 August 2024 at the Recital Hall of Koto Cultural Center. Rehearsals take place from afternoon to evening, followed by the final performance.
Competition
The competition is for unaccompanied marimba. The preliminary round requires one freely chosen recorded work; the final requires one freely chosen unaccompanied work of up to twelve minutes. Applications are accepted from 22 April to 2 July.
Jury
Katsuko Ogawa, Makoto Nagura and Kazuhiko Hattori adjudicate. A five-octave KOROGI marimba is available at the venue.
Fees
The preliminary audio-review fee is ¥4,000. Finalists pay ¥24,000 for final-round adjudication.
