Keiko Abe

Keiko Abe is a marimbist and composer who has made a major contribution to the development of the modern concert marimba. She is Specially Appointed Professor of marimba at Toho Gakuen (as of July 22, 2026). Her honors include six Fine Arts Festival Awards and the Commissioner of the Agency for Cultural Affairs Award. Her compositions include Dream of Cherry Blossoms (桜の幻影, 1984), Bamboo Dream, and Prism Rhapsody.
