FUTATSUGI Chiyuki is a marimbist and percussionist. After attending the music high school affiliated with Tokyo University of the Arts, FUTATSUGI completed undergraduate and graduate studies at the university. Teachers include Seimon Ariga. FUTATSUGI received the university’s Ataka Prize and placed fourth in percussion at the 13th Japan Wind and Percussion Competition in 1996.

Alongside orchestral, chamber and contemporary-music performances and recordings, FUTATSUGI has participated in recordings of Joe Hisaishi’s music for Howl’s Moving Castle and Ponyo, the album WORKS III, and concert tours. FUTATSUGI also arranges for marimba ensemble and has published two instructional books with Onkyo Publish covering introductory marimba playing and scale practice.

FUTATSUGI performs percussion and timpani with Geidai Philharmonia and serves as a performance instructor in Tokyo University of the Arts’ Faculty of Music. FUTATSUGI is also a part-time lecturer in the Department of Music at Nihon University’s College of Art and teaches percussion at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music.

On October 20, 2026, FUTATSUGI Chiyuki is scheduled to perform in MARIMBA ENSEMBLE ECLAT vol.2 at Fuchu Forest Art Theater’s Vienna Hall.
