Andy Harnsberger is an American percussionist, marimbist, composer, and educator. His work centers on solo percussion and marimba performance, new repertoire, university teaching, and masterclasses. He performs both independently and in the Harnsberger/Jones Duo with percussionist Caitlin Jones.
Harnsberger earned a Doctor of Musical Arts in Performance and Literature and a Performer’s Certificate from the Eastman School of Music. His official biography records more than 700 solo performances and five solo albums, together with a live album by the Harnsberger/Jones Duo. As a composer, he writes works intended for his own concerts as well as for other percussionists.
Harnsberger is Professor of Music and Coordinator of Percussion at Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee (as of July 15, 2026). He also works as a guest artist, clinician, adjudicator, and presenter at universities and percussion events in the United States and abroad.
