Jeannine Maddox-Vögele is a Swiss percussionist and educator whose range extends from traditional Swiss drumming to contemporary marimba repertoire. She earned her teaching and concert diplomas at the Konservatorium Zürich, studied marimba intensively for a year with Keiko Abe in Tokyo, and continued her training in the United States with Alan Abel of the Philadelphia Orchestra and in a masterclass with Bob Becker of Nexus.
During roughly fifteen years in the United States she appeared with orchestras including the Newark Symphony Orchestra, the Delaware County Symphony, and the Rose Tree Pops. A founding member of the Swiss Percussion Ensemble and a member of the Conton Percussion Ensembles of Zürich, she has performed for many years in the percussion duo Selah. Her honors include the Migros Prize, the Kiwanis Ensemble Prize, and the Hegar Prize for percussion, and a marimba concerto written for her was performed with the Symphonisches Orchester Helvetia Rüti-Tann.
Her solo marimba piece In the Sea, inspired by the marimba writing of Keiko Abe, is published by C. Alan Publications. As of 2026 she teaches percussion, drumset, and marimba at the Musikschule Pfannenstiel and the Musikschule Zürcher Oberland.
