Mika Stoltzman is a marimbist from Amakusa, Kumamoto, based in Boston. Her official biography documents performances at Carnegie Hall, PASIC, the Blue Note, international jazz and chamber-music festivals, and appearances as a soloist with orchestras in Japan, Europe, and the Americas. Her recordings include an arrangement and performance of Steve Reich's Tokyo/Vermont Counterpoint, projects with Steve Gadd, and Duo Cantando with clarinetist Richard Stoltzman. Chick Corea composed works for her, including a marimba version of his Piano Concerto No. 1, which she premiered with the Xalapa Symphony Orchestra.
