Mie Saito (齊藤美絵) is a Japanese percussionist and marimbist. She graduated from Kunitachi College of Music’s instrumental-music percussion course in 1992 with the Takeoka Prize and completed its graduate program in March 1994. She received a special prize at the eighth Percussion Newcomers Concert in 1992 and first prize in the percussion division of the tenth Japan Wind and Percussion Competition in 1993.
From 1991, Saito performed in Germany, Bulgaria, Denmark, and across Asia as a member of Percussion Ensemble OKADA of Japan. She began her “Sound Puzzle” percussion recitals and marimba concerts in 1994, took part in the second Miyazaki International Chamber Music Festival in 1997, and appeared in Marimba Alive! vol. 3 with Junko Sakimura (崎村潤子).
Former lecturer at Saitama Prefectural High School of the Arts (December 2023). Freelance performer (June 2025). Percussion instructor, Kunitachi Open College (2024 and 2025 scheduled programs). Judge, 42nd Percussion Newcomers Concerts (fiscal 2026 program). Scheduled performer, Hiroshima TAIKO Ensemble concert in Hiroshima (April 6, 2026 program).
