Mao Taneda is a marimbist. CAFUA’s recording listing for the high-school division of the 27th All Japan Junior and Senior High School Wind and Percussion Solo Contest in 2023 identifies Taneda as a second-year student at Kagoshima Prefectural Shoyo High School representing the Kyushu branch, performing Keiko Abe’s Dream of the Cherry Blossoms.
On April 11, 2027, Taneda is scheduled to appear as soloist in Puts’s Marimba Concerto at Carta da Musica’s sixth concert , conducted by Yuki Urabe.
