WADA Mitsuyo is a percussionist and marimbist from Fukuoka. WADA graduated in percussion from Tokyo University of the Arts and completed graduate studies there, winning third prize in percussion at the seventh Japan Wind and Percussion Competition in 1990. In 2002, WADA and Yoko Ishizaki won third prize at the contemporary-music performance competition Kyougaku V as a marimba duo.
WADA plays percussion with Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra and is active with Tokyo Sinfonietta, the percussion ensemble Shun-Ka-Shu-Toh and Percussion unit UNZARI. Contemporary music is a continuing part of this work, including appearances at the Présences festival in France and Gaudeamus in the Netherlands.
Alongside performing, WADA teaches percussion at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music.
On October 20, 2026, WADA Mitsuyo is scheduled to perform in MARIMBA ENSEMBLE ECLAT vol.2 at Fuchu Forest Art Theater’s Vienna Hall.
