Nancy Zeltsman is a Boston-based marimbist and educator whose work centers on solo and chamber performance, commissioning new repertoire, recording, and teaching. She earned a Bachelor of Music in percussion performance from New England Conservatory in 1982, where she studied with Vic Firth.
In 1985, Zeltsman and violinist Sharan Leventhal formed Marimolin. Zeltsman has premiered more than 130 solo and chamber works, and Marimolin has premiered more than 80 works for violin and marimba. The duo marked its 40-year collaboration with Berklee performances in January 2026. Zeltsman also organized 14 editions of the Zeltsman Marimba Festival between 2001 and 2018; its events involved more than 600 marimba-playing participants.
Zeltsman has taught marimba and chamber music at Boston Conservatory at Berklee and Berklee College of Music since 1993. She was inducted into the Percussive Arts Society Hall of Fame in 2022. Her fifth solo album, drinking water, was released in 2025.
