Description
A short chorale published for solo marimba.
Evelyn Glennie dates the piece to 1978, when she was thirteen. It grew from a four-mallet xylophone exercise seeking a connected melodic line across chords. Listeners’ responses helped turn the exercise into a reflective piece, initially nicknamed A Wee Prayer. Faber publishes it in Marimba Encores.
