At a glance
Marimba.org is a static information and archive site. It does not offer public accounts, comments, advertising, or behavioral analytics.
The site processes ordinary web server logs, can remember explicitly selected display and external-media preferences in your browser, and connects to external media providers only after you choose to load that content.
Who is responsible
NAT Consulting LLC operates Marimba.org and is responsible for the processing described in this notice. Its registered address is 2-22-17 Naka, Kunitachi-shi, Tokyo 186-0004, Japan; its corporate number is 6012803002240; and its representative is Natsuhiko Sakimura.
Music class inquiries
When you contact the Marimba.org Music Class by email, the operator may receive the student's name, age or school year, preferred subject and day, your contact details, and the contents of your message.
This information is used only to arrange a free trial, respond to the inquiry, prepare for an in-person explanation, and, if you later enroll, administer the lessons. Information needed to arrange a lesson may be shared with the responsible instructor. Where the GDPR applies, steps taken at your request before enrollment and performance of a later lesson agreement are the legal bases for this processing; legal obligations and the operator's legitimate interests in maintaining necessary business records may also apply.
If no enrollment follows, inquiry information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for follow-up and is ordinarily deleted within one year after the last contact. If you enroll, relevant information is retained for as long as needed to administer the lessons, handle the agreement, and meet applicable legal obligations.
Web server logs
When you request a page, the hosting infrastructure may record your IP address, request time, requested URL, referrer, browser user-agent, response status, and related security information.
These records are used to deliver the site, maintain security, diagnose failures, and investigate abuse. Where the GDPR applies, this processing is based on the operator's legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service.
Routine Apache logs are rotated daily and retained for up to 45 days. Selected records may be kept longer when reasonably necessary to investigate a security incident, prevent abuse, or meet a legal obligation.
Language preference
After you explicitly choose English or Japanese, the site stores that choice in localStorage in your browser for up to 180 days. The stored record contains only the language code and the time it was saved.
The saved preference is consulted only on the English and Japanese home pages. If you open an article or any other deeper English or Japanese URL directly, the site displays the requested page and does not redirect it. localStorage is not sent to Marimba.org with web requests. You can remove it by clearing site data in your browser. The site remains usable if storage or JavaScript is disabled.
Embedded media
Some recording and article pages offer Apple Music or YouTube players. Marimba.org does not contact those providers until you press the load button for a player. YouTube preview thumbnails are cached and served by Marimba.org, so displaying the preview does not request an image from Google.
You can allow players for the current browser session, remember an allow or do-not-load choice for up to 180 days, or leave them blocked. You can change or clear the saved choice at any time through External content settings in the footer.
After you load a player, your browser connects directly to Apple or Google. Those providers receive connection information such as your IP address, browser details, and the page context and may process information under their own privacy terms. YouTube players use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. Marimba.org does not receive player account details or a report of your listening or viewing activity.
Service providers and international processing
Hosting and infrastructure providers process connection data on behalf of the operator. The email provider processes music-class inquiry messages on behalf of the operator, and the responsible instructor may receive the information needed to arrange or administer lessons.
The production site is hosted in the United States, and website and email providers may process information in Japan, the United States, and other countries. Where the GDPR applies, you may ask the operator for information about the applicable transfer safeguards. Apple and Google act under their own terms when you request their embedded content and may process information in multiple countries.
Security measures
Marimba.org limits collection by operating without public accounts, comments, or a web inquiry form. Access to server logs and inquiry email is restricted to the operator, relevant service providers, and responsible instructors according to need. The operator uses provider authentication and access controls and reviews information for deletion under the retention rules in this notice.
You may request further information about security measures from the operator, except where disclosure would create a security risk.
Your choices and rights
You can use direct English or Japanese URLs, clear the saved language from browser site data, decline to load external players, and follow ordinary external links instead.
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may request notification of purpose, access or disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, erasure, restriction, objection, or cessation of third-party provision concerning information processed by the operator. You may also complain to the data protection authority that has jurisdiction over you.
Send a request or complaint to info@marimba.org with enough detail to identify the information and action requested. The operator may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify your identity or authority, will respond in accordance with applicable law, and does not normally charge a fee for requests made by email.
Changes to this notice
Material changes will be published on this page with a new effective date. The preserved WordPress and XOOPS privacy pages are historical archive content and do not describe the operation of the current static site.
