if you really just want to experiment with wrapping...you can always just buy some unwrapped mallets..you can get Balter unwounds for really cheap (like 11.00 from WW and BW)and wrap those..just a thought..I did that with some rubber and latex cover mallets I found in a clearance box at a music store. Made some out of that..worked pretty well I thought
