hmm..well I dont really know the timp part to the nutcracker very well..but I would say go a pair of legatos, generals and staccatos. And as far as reccomendations go, I would say go for the Adams Cloyd Duff series. Ive found that they have a just a bit nicer sound to them than the clevelanders. as far as duffs go, for the nutcracker in specific I would say get number 3 generals, the legatos, the parachute puff mallet, and maybe staccatos, but I doubt you'd need them.
