This is what I have found out from Karen Pershing at Studio 4 Percussion.

" The answer, unfortunately, is that they
(probably) no longer exist. When Clair Musser was still alive, my good
friend Joel Leach, who founded and ran Studio 4 until I bought the company
about 5 years ago, questioned Clair extensively about the "missing" etudes.
Neither he nor Vera Daehlin, who ended up handling Clair's papers in his
later years, could ever find them. Joel also tried to track down former
students of Clair's, thinking that some of them might have had copies of
the etudes. No luck.

If I'm remembering correctly, Clair had deliberately destroyed a few of the
etudes, since he no longer liked them, but the others are, as far as we
know, just plain lost. Who knows? Some may turn up eventually. I hope
so! The answer, unfortunately, is that they
