As far as the misprint in measure 55, my copy has that measure in 6/8, which is consistent with Evelyn Glennie's recording of the piece. I'll have to check on your other question of performance note number 5. As for stickings and mallet choice...that would be up to your own discretion. Use whatever feels right to you!
