To answer Adam's question: The Hovhaness is indeed written for Xylophone and Orchestra. The parts can be rented from Edition Peters in New York. I've never played this piece, so I can't really compare it to the Rosauro, but I'm looking at a copy I just pulled of the shelf and it looks like a high-speed 2 mallet affair.
