You can also find a lot of marimba music at www.jwpeppr.com when you search for "marimba". Another artist who definitely is doing a lot to make the marimba more known is Evelyn Glennie. Listen to her recordings, they are amazing, specially if you take in mind she is deaf. I find her recording of Ney Rosauro's "Concerto for Marimba" the best I have ever heard.
One answer on why music shops don't display a marimba is according to me:
there are only a limited number of marimba players in a shop's region and why displaying a very expensive instrument for only a few persons if for the same amount of money you can display three piano's for many more potential customers.
