Now what is considered "superior sound"? I have played Musser, and I too think that they sound really beautiful and very resonant. The problem is seperation of notes. I think that there are two things needed in a marimba: a marimba that can be very resonant and sonorous, and a marimba that is able to seperate notes so that you can make a clear distinction when doing fast runs. There doesn't seem to be a perfect marimba. Though I have not played them all.
