OK, George, I'll bite. (I had to get the score from the SOM library, first.)
1. All of the other slanted lines indicate natural glisses.
2. (Note #1) The left hand uses the mallet heads to play a mandolin roll on the ends of the low B & C bars. At the same time, the right hand, after the intial attack on the same notes with mallets, reverses the mallets and rests the handle ends on the same bars, moving from the node to the middle of the bars, letting the mallet handle ends "dance" on the vibrating bars.
Note #2: a free, mandolin roll with the mallet handle ends above and below the high g-flat, a-flat, and b-flat bars, at the same time striking the upper surface of the g, a, and b natural bars with the lower of the two handle ends.
Note #3: striking the frame of the instrument (wood or cabinet-board, not metal), with the head of mallet 1.
NJZ recorded "Tensio" on his 1987/1989 CD, "Marimba & Percussion Solo", Cadenza CAD D 878-8.
