Many thanks for the info.Why did your group cease?Do you feel the combination is limited at all,if somewhat left-field in line-up ! The reason for this inquiry is that I'm planning my escape from West End theatre and believe that whilst the opportunities to work (as) exclusively (as possible) as a soloist in the UK in the main,and in Europe in the long term are somewhat limited (the English whilst loving music,hate the noise it makes),more intimate collaborations are very attractive to me musically,and to funding bodies financially.Do you know any sources of recordings of the Tokyo group's out of print recordings?
One other quickie,if I may...re:Chain- on Momoko Kamiya's recording,the opening is "swung",and in her interview in "Percussive Notes" she refers to this, suggesting that in more recent editions,this would be in the composer's instructions to the performer.Do you know if this is the case,and what is your take on this?Personally,I think that a strictly dot-and-tail interpretation is clumsy and an inflected "bebop" style swing is more fluid and effective.Many thanks.
