Jim,
Yes, I don't generally post or respond to threads, but a friend told me about these questions on the message board, and I thought some answers were important.
There is a CD and DVD recording of the Symphony version, which you can find through my website (www.andrewbeall.com). Since the Symphony premiere, which was an hour long, I made an alternate version, roughly 30 minutes, 3 mvts. instead of 4, and called this the Concerto version. Both versions are avaiable in sheet music, however only the last 2 mvts. of the Concerto version have been recorded, from a live performance last month.
As of now, there are no booked performances of this piece, but there's talk of performing it in Georgia, Illinois, and New Jersey. Keep checking my website for upcoming performances, or feel free to email me and ask.
What was the piece written about?--well, that's a conversation for you and me over a drink. The piece holds utmost meaning to my heart, yet the story is much too long for a message board.
Thank you for inquiring. Take care! ~Andrew Beall
