Those are actually the factory direct prices that i gave you. you have been looking in the wrong places.

for example:
http://www.lonestarpercussion.com/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=3677

$9750 + $140 = $9890 = everything brand new with warranty
$8850 = 2nd hand no warranty
difference = $1040

In this case (of a marimba), the condition doesn't mean anything. most marimbas are in mint condition. The condition is not enough to justify how much more you're paying! If I'm paying $500 less for a scratch or dent, why not? Use that extra money to get yourself a load of mallets.

My ultimate point is NOT to persuade you to buy brand new. but it is wiser for you to wait for the right deal instead of jumping in, trying to talk yourself into committing so much money on a mediocre purchase.

I know you can't wait to get your hands, mallets, and lips on that baby. Personally speaking, and i'm sure a lot of us here are too, that I'm nowhere near my purchase. I'll probably have to wait at least a year before I have enough to get my own 5.0 (and it will be 3-4 months more after ordering). I've been looking at my Malletech catelogue every other day for almost a year now! so i totally understand how u feel.
