Greetings all!
I have recently started getting back into my percussion practice after having "laid down my mallets" about 10 years ago after receiving a percussion performance degree. I very much want to purchase a marimba, but am frankly a little overwhelmed. I have not played in many years and am not sure what sort of instrument I should buy. It will be strictly for my personal practice. I want something that sounds good, is versatile, and also affordable.
One big question I have is what is the literature like these days? Will I be alright with only a 4.3 or will it limit my options? I was playing fairly advanced literature when I graduated college, but never played many pieces that called for 5 octaves.
I really appreciate any and all advice.
