'Sorry for the delay, but I was traveling.
No, there is not a picture online, although Emmanuel Sejourne plays exactly the same way. The basic idea is a Burton grip, modified with some Stevens ideas: moving to the back of the handles, using the ring fingertip to hold the outside mallet, separating the handles, and turning the wrist to more of a "thumb up" position. I like the term "hybrid" -- that shall be the name henceforth. The mallets are crossed at the last inch, but do not touch -- much like the Stevens, except the outside mallet is on top. The little finger is curled around the end of the inside mallet; the ring finger presses the end of the outside mallet against the base of the thumb; the first joint of the middle finger supports the inside mallet; and the index finger and thumb control the inside mallet in the same manner as Stevens. The advantages are that heavier mallets can be used, with much more tone and sonority.
