♦備考: The Australian International Marimba Festival will take place at the
Adelaide University痴 Elder School of Music
from October 1st till October 8th 2005.
This festival will bring international soloists such as
BOGDAN BACANU from Austria and KATARZYNA MYCKA from Germany
to Adelaide to demonstrate their musical prowess on the marimba. Works from the solo, duo and ensemble literature will be presented throughout the festival. In addition to the concerts that will take place, a strong emphasis will be placed on learning; active participants will receive individual lessons from the faculty members and passive participants will also be able to observe lessons.
Both ensemble and solo repertoire will be explored by students and faculty. Single lessons will be given during the day and ensemble classes will be held in the evening.
By having such internationally credited marimba virtuosi in Adelaide, the festival aims to bring marimba players and percussionists from around Australia and abroad together to share in a musical experience of the highest level. Participation is open to marimbists at all stages of their development, and to people of all ages and nationalities.
