Ive got a set of the med. Balter Pro-Vibes that I use occasionally on marimba as well the Silver Jazz mallets. I really wouldnt reccommend anything hard (i.e. provibe green and yellow) they just sound terrible, they are just way to hard to be practical for anything really..

I would also reccomend the malletech vibe mallets, the Dave Samuels DS18 in particular, they're not really all that clunky, just articulate and dark..so their not too bad.

So..in wrap up..

Balter pro-Vibe medium (Blue) and softer okay
Balter Pro-Vibe Med. Hard (Green) and Hard (Yellow) NO!!!
Malletech Samuels and Friedman models ok
