Scott, Nico et al..I have not heard a Coe Marimba either, but I also agree that most tuners are self-taught..and through trial and error we figure it out and expand the art/craft...the few books I read years ago had many mistakes in them....and even with knowing the theory, or "a" theory, it still takes years to understand the process... I know Ron Samuel's tuner, John Salazar, very well...he learned some from Ron but I think most of it on his own...just tuning thousands and thousands of bars...we talk often and learn from each other..and laugh a lot...
