Actually, as I remember, he began from exercices I gave him for developing 4-mallet technique.. then, something grew from that... just my faded memory of the diatant past..if you look closely at Gordon Stout's etudes you fill find something similar..each one seems to have a specific techical interest or interests..whether intentional or not I don't know.
