Hey Jon, So, is the piece for marimba or xylophone? I can see how it could be tricky for xylophone, but if its for marimba it shouldn't be too much of a problem. The bars on a marimba are wider, so hitting the right bar is not as difficult. There is some amazing difficult marimba pieces out there, and the best advice I can give you is: make the piece as difficult as you want. The technical aspect of it should not be that much of concern, in MOST cases (but not all), we can manage. There are some pretty good marimbaists out there that would give concert pianists a run for their money! :) ~Behzad
