Some time ago, I did sort of an "annotated bibliography" on a wide variety of mallet-based method books and I recall finding one by Gary Burton on his four-mallet technique. I also recall, though, the pages being brown and the cover falling off - not to mention a picture of a much younger Burton inside - so i don't even know if it's still in print or not. Sorry I can't be much more help than that at this moment, but I'll try to dig out the paper and fill in more info on publisher, year, etc. when i get home.
Off to more of the first day of classes (BLECH!).
