Thanks for your response. I think I will be performing it on xylophone. But in response to Mr. Moersch, do you mean that the entire three movements be played with wound mallets? Or just the 2nd movement? And what sort of model mallet sounds best on xylophone for this kind of playing, (perhaps name some names so I know what to check out)- And perhaps someone could provide more information about "Japanese musical idioms", as Nat discussed.
