Well done Pedro! Your points are very good. I too like Henze, Babbitt, Takemitsu (I LOVE Takemitsu), but I too feel that playing scattered works from post WW2 is not all we should do, but look to the past. I am a great enthusiast of classical music from all periods. What I have learned about pre-WW2 music, comes from the side of me that studies percussion. I love timpani, and I love working on excerpts. The same goes for snare drum. And I think this is my connection with music from before the marimba came about. But I truly do love the history of music, and even the history of music from other parts of the world. I am currently playing with a friend of mine who is a Ph.D candidate for Ethnomusicology, and I just love picking his brain! Unfortunately, after having a discussion about the marimba, he expressed his thoughts on how much he hates contemporary music. :) ~Behzad
