I have had to deal with this question, so I have a pretty good handle on it.
I think Drum Corp keyboard playing is a good things. Its like Taebo for your chops. The only thing you have to remember in concert playing is that you can't really overplay and get away with it on rosewood bars...not a good situation.
But if you realize the two styles of playing
A)Corp-hard, intense, heavy mallets, high sticks-very strenuous, lots of demand
B) COncert playing-more phrasing/emotion, less heights on average, lots of demand.
