http://www.malletjazz.com/database It's not perfect, and the site only deals with mallet instruments, not mallets nor music. I've had one or two people ask me about including mallets in the scope of the database, but there are so many different types of mallets and so many different manufacturers, that's just beyond the capabilities I have and the time I have available to devote to the site. Nat has been kind enough to provide a link to the site, here on the marimba.org pages, and I know of one or two instrument reviews that have come about via that method of reaching the site. I twice posted announcements to the PAS Conference Center, hoping that some of the very knowledgeable and experienced folks there would share their thoughts and opinions about various mallet instruments, but AFAIK I haven't gotten any reviews submitted from those who found out about it via the Conference Center. Unfortunate. Thanks again to those who have shared their reviews, and I'd like to repeat my invitation to post. There's no fee to view the site, no fee to post reviews (no fee at all), no registration (altho I do ask for an e-mail address, just to confirm that the review was sent by the person in whose name it was given - but I keep the reviewer's e-mail address private and unseen by visitors to the site, unless the reviewer specifies otherwise)...no pop-up ads, "no nothin'" - just the hope that the Database can be of service to those who would like some more information and/or opinions on these various instruments.
