Thank for the info Mr. Moersch. That makes alot of sense. I really don't like two-tone mallets, because of those harsh loud notes. I am sure Mr. Van Sice and Mr. Haas will not be too pleased with broken bars after an audition, as well as making their ears ring after the audition. I feel there is a real misconception that Japanese repertoire is supposed to sound harsh and "ulgy", but in my opinion I don't find this to be true. I really have been working hard on this piece, trying to making a convincing melody out of this piece, which is difficult to do, but is very affective if it can be accompished correctly. I think I will go with the Van Sice mallets, I just hope that Mr. Van Sice doesn't think that I am brown-nosing him by using his mallets! :)
