A really interesting article that explains some stuff about resonator acoustics can be found on the malletech site... www.mostlymarimba.com under the heading "For the Techno-geek"...

it's a decent read even if you don't agree...

If you're looking to purchase a marimba you might call up all the manufacturers of instruments you're interested in and ask them about their resonators?
