My apologies to James Walker and William Trigg. I know of several people who also use this as their livelihood. It causes me to question why I have a downloaded library in the first place when I can totally relate to them. Pardon my hypocracy. On my view of Napster, I feel that the proposed idea of a monthly fee would be very beneficial and would provide a medium ground between the artist and the consumer. I have no objections to paying it. That's only if it provided a substantial amount to the artist for the files that have been downloaded. (I'm not sure as to how it can be effectively regulated on a case-by-case basis. I'd appreciate it if anyone can enlighten me on this because I'm somewhat computer-ignorant.) It would probably be cheaper than purchasing a CD- no material or production costs? I love the convienience of Napster, it's easiness of locating rarer music, and not being forced to buy an entire album for a few tracks. Nevertheless, I won't be devastated if it is shut down. There are always the good old-fashioned internet purchases. My two cents.
Julia (P.S. Ben Milder, stop being such an ass. If it truly is a financial burden, go set up a lemonade stand or something.)
