Dear Ben,
2 final thoughts on the topic. First, I am sorry to hear that you wouldn't buy these CD's otherwise. Listening is one of the best ways to learn for musicians. I hope that as you go on in your studies you will re-think this approach. Second, there is one big difference between sharing material with friends and sharing via Napster et al. Most friends expect you to return the CD (or whatever) after you have enjoyed it. My hope as an artist is that you will dig it so much that you will want your own copy. If not, no harm done - you wouldn't have bought it anyway. Sharing on-line is like xeroxing a book - you now have a copy and feel no need to own the original. Good luck in your studies.
Sincerely, Bill Trigg
