check out www.malletshop.com - they usually have great deals on used instruments!
you also might check ebay.

What kind of instrument are you interested in? I know of someone who might be selling a 5-octave instrument here in Minneapolis soon. Depending on your brand preference, I will put him in touch with you if he indeed has the kind of marimba you are looking for.
