Dear Marimba Players!


Following the success of the International Marimba Festival Linz 2004 and the Marimba Competition 2006 in Linz the Classic Concert Music Group - in collaboration with the renowned University Mozarteum and Summeracademy Mozarteum Salzburg - is hosting an International Marimba Competition for marimbists of all ages and nationalities under the artistic direction of the internationally known marimba virtuoso Bogdan Bacanu.

The competition will take place at the Mozarteum Salzburg from July 26th to the 1st of August 2009 in Salzburg - the historical Austrian city, home of the composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Candidates will play in front of a jury comprised of many of the world's leading marimba artists and musical personalities, as well as industry professionals such as concert organisers, artist managers, record labels and instrument manufacturers, providing the chance to open up many new and exciting career opportunities.
